Candle Care
To ensure that your wooden wick candle burns optimally and lasts a long time, you should take special care when using it.
Prior to lighting the candle, make sure to set it on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from any flammable materials such as curtains or clothing. You should also avoid any drafts as these can cause the flame to flicker.
When the candle is lit, allow it to burn until the melt pool reaches all edges of the container before extinguishing it.
Then use your fingers or a wick trimmer to pinch off any charred pieces of wood that may have formed due to burning. Allow your candle to cool before relighting it again.
The optimal amount of time for each burn is between two and four hours; this will help prevent soot and smoke build up that can be caused by burning for too long.
After each burn, you should trim the wick down to about ¼ inch in length with either your fingers or a wick trimmer so that proper airflow around the flame is maintained during subsequent burns.
Lastly, remember to keep an eye on the flame at all times while burning for safety reasons, and never leave a lit candle unattended. Taking care of your wooden wick candle can give you an enjoyable experience every time you light it!
